Small Groups

How Not to Read the Bible

How Not to Read the Bible  by Dan Kimball

Difficult questions arise when we read the Bible.  Is God pro-violence?  Does God endorse slavery?  Why does the Bible feel so anti-women and anti-science?  Questions like these have caused many to walk away from faith.  We need to address these issues that come up about the Bible.  The good news is that there are reasonable responses to these valid and understandable questions.  Dan Kimball guides us step-by-step in how to make sense of these difficult and disturbing Bible passages.

When: Monday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:00pm
May 15-June 26 (no class on Memorial Day)
Where: First Washington UMC

Soul Care

How we respond to the events of our everyday lives is our spiritual journey.  Soul care is a way of companioning others as they intentionally seek to notice and listen more closely to the guidance and transforming work of God in their everyday lives. Whether in a group or a one-on-one setting, soul care creates the opportunity to gain clarity and experience God’s grace and love in your present circumstances.
